Field Studies Council: The UK’s outdoor education charity, welcoming muddy boots and the buzz of learning at our centres since 1943 – Making outdoor education easier to access.
Our mission is to create outstanding opportunities for everyone to learn about and connect with the natural environment and be passionate about preserving its future.
Help us make Outdoor learning & Environmental education accessible to all.
We want to provide more opportunities for people to undertake Fieldwork; which covers everything from traditional science and geography habitat investigations and river studies through to discovery of local spaces through to orienteering, mountain hike challenges, raft building, gorge walking and minibeast hunts.
In 2023 we supported over 120,000 learners which included:
1,659 children through our Grants for Schools programme
80 young people through our Young Darwin Scholars programme
4,211 learners through other charitable activities
At our 12 Residential Centres, 7 Day Centres and through virtual learning.
