My Story

Thanks for visiting my page!

Every year I do a charity fundraising challenge around my birthday. It's turned into a fun way to do something positive and take my mind off the passage of time. :D

I've taken on a few big one-day walks before and decided to raise the stakes in 2026. Between 6th - 14th May I'll be attempting my first ever multi-day hike: The West Highland Way.

It's a stunning 96-mile route with around 4,000m elevation gain that takes you from Glasgow's suburbs to the Scottish Highlands. There are incredible sights along the way, including Loch Lomond and Ben Nevis, with the land turning more rugged and wild as you go from south to north.

This will be a big challenge for me. I love nature but I'm only just learning to be an "outdoorsy" person. I don't even own a tent as I'm writing this in January! As well as the walk, I'd adding some side quests to make things more interesting. If I manage the whole thing, it will be my first time:

- doing a multi-day hike.
- solo travelling/backpacking (I'll be carrying everything I need for the week)
- wild camping.
- and, weather dependent, ascending Ben Nevis (not officially part of the trail but close enough for an attempt.)

I'm fortunate that I have the means and time to do this. That's why I'm raising money for Field Studies Council. Their mission is to get more people outdoors and learning about nature, which is difficult for lots of people due to financial, geographical, and cultural barriers.
I'll be experiencing some of the finest scenery the UK has to offer and I want to help others have amazing outdoor experiences.

Your donations will support young learners through free and discounted trips and courses, helping them enjoy the wonders of the outdoors and educating the next generation of nature protectors.
